I’ve noticed, that my enjoyment of crafts have changed my view on life. I previously always wanted everything to be in pristine condition and didn’t hesitate to replace stuff. Now with age, and with the spare time to fix stuff, I’ve learned to enjoy things, that I’ve fixed instead of replaced. This acceptance of transience and imperfections is called Wabi-sabi.

I have previously changed a thermostat and added another temperature zone to my dry-aging refrigerator. I decided to upgrade it a bit more and now it is time to add a humidity controller to the fridge.

I’ve now followed how the modified fridge works with just one temperature. So it is time to add the second temperature zone into it for creating a cheese cave and maturing the cheeses. This turned out to be really straight forward and easy.

We have a somewhat neglected aquarium at our home. I’ve got it from my childhood home, making it about 30 years old and almost all parts are original. Well the light went out. and I thought it was the neon tube that finally gave way but upon opening I realized that I have to start to look into replacing old electronics.

A “pulkka” or a Finnish sled is an important piece of equipment, especially if there are hills nearby and you have kids. In addition, before they manage to plow the pavements from too much snow, a pulkka is the best transportation device when taking your kids to the kindergarten. However, ours was broken. Time to learn how to do plastic welding.
My wife got a father’s day gift for me to use the municipality’s workshop. And oh boy I did!
We have just ditched our couch and bought two arm chairs. We needed a small side table to hold our wine glasses while we sit and read. Having the perfect size and shape proved difficult to buy so I decided this to be the perfect job for me to learn again how to use workshop tools.

Our kids are huge fans of the Lego Nexo Knights franchise. As most of my experiments, this one started by seeing a youtube video that got me interested. Combining the cosplay methods and my kids’ enthusiasm for Lego’s I decided to make them a EVA-foam Lego Nexo Knight costume.
